This fine metallic thread from Au Ver a Soie is made by wrapping metal around a central core. This gives a more solid, shiny appearance than a braided or twisted thread. It is similar to Jap thread.

This thread is available in gold & silver in different thicknesses, with other colours also available in the mid-size range.

Great for a wide range of applications including hand embroidery (great for couching and braid stitches), button making (especially historic designs), tassels, ganutell, braiding - the list is endless. The gold & silver have a nice tone that resembles real metal threads.
