The essential companion for making Ganutell, Cartouchage and Spiral Beads
Coiled wire is an integral part of ganutell, cartouchage passementerie and heritage needlework. In order to have a wider choice of wire types and diameters, making your own is vital - particularly for the fine cartouchage petals often seen as tassel embellishments, and for silk thread ganutell. This tool makes the whole process of winding your own wire much simpler.
This boxed kit includes a table clamp to help to hold the larger madrels in place. There are 5 mandrels, allowing you to make not only fine coils for passementerie, but larger coils that can be used to make beads and other decorations.
When using coils for passementerie, a general rule of thumb is that the finer the thread, the finer the wire and the diameter of the coil should be.
Mandrel sizes: 1mm, 1.6mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm
