Day 343: Justus #onebuttonaday by Gina Barrett

This button is an interpretation of 16th century buttons from a painting. I've used chevron knotting and bullion knots - both techniques that are known from the period. It has been named for Tracy Justus, who found the high resolution of the small image someone posted in a costuming group on facebook - allowing me to zoom in! You can see the painting here - French School Portrait circa 1550.

Name: Justus
Type: Knot
Materials: Gilt No 6 passing / Paperlathe mould No 226
