Make Your Own Heritage Pincushions Kit x 4

£ 13.99 each
  • Description

Everything you need to make four Victorian style patchwork pincushions

Now packaged in our new pillow box gift packaging!

These little dimensional pincushions were traditionally made by Victorian ladies using up scraps of fabric and pieces of card they had carefully cut to shape. This kits brings this up to date by including precision cut card pieces so that you can get on with the making!

The method uses 'English Paper Piecing' patchwork techniques to create 3 dimensional fabric shapes. The pins are placed along the seam lines to ensure the ornament keeps its shape. Padding is not normally used, which means that the finished shapes are light - this space can also be used to add bells or rice to create a shaker ornament, or wadding can be included to add more weight. This kit brings together traditional hand sewing and patchwork skills without the need to measure and cut out your own templates. The kit comes complete with fabric, but you can use your own scraps to make something totally unique.

Additional embellishments such as tassels, sequins, beads and stitching can all be included to create a unique bauble.

This kit contains:

  • Cotton Fabrics (Fabric colours may vary from those illustrated)
  • Card Pieces (one set each of four designs
  • Pins, Beads, Ribbon, Needle, Bobbin of Sewing thread
  • Full instructions (including fabric patterns)

Sphere 50mm x 45mm

Diamond 90mm x 45mm
