Learn how to weave pretty ribbons, trims & journal ties with this cute and simple-to-build mini loom!
This mini loom is a reduced version of our Build Your Own 18th Century Box Loom and aimed at those who would love to try weaving, but are perhaps a little worried about having a full sized loom. (And experienced weavers - this is a cute addition to your loom family!)
This is a great way to try out narrow weaving - the kit contains all of the MDF pieces required to build a little loom that can be used to weave ribbons and tapes. There are no woodworking skills required - just add glue.
Based on 18th century box looms, the heddle can be removed to store flat on the box (creating a lid) and the interior of the finished loom has two compartments. Our specially designed roller ensures that no complex carpentry skills are required to build a fully working loom.
All of the pieces are cut from 3mm MDF and can be painted or stained as other MDF items (just don’t block the heddle space!)
The kit also contains full instructions for setting up your loom and how to weave, and includes 10 patterns.
For those of you who have used a rigid heddle for band weaving, this heddle has 15 holes and slots.
Learn how to warp and weave on this in this video - which shows our full sized loom, but the technique is the same!
