Clear acrylic ruler engraved with lines and measurements to create Hanabira (flower petal) squares using any lightweight cotton or silk fabric. 

Japanese folded flowers traditionally use plain fabrics, while more modern makers use fabric with fine prints. This clear acrylic ruler allows you to easily cut the small squares that are required to make the flowers using a rotary cutter and cutting mat (or a pencil and scissors)

This ruler is engraved with marks that allow you to cut squares as small as 10mm (use only the lightest fabric for this small size!) up to 50mm.

Holes have also been cut to allow you to mark the fabric at intervals and draw up lines to cut with scissors, or even to mark up for other crafts, such as smocking and gathering.
