This is tatting shuttle from Pony has a small hook on one end, which means that you don't have to look for a hook when one is needed for a pattern (it also comes in handy when you made your knot incorrectly...).

The other end is shaped giving a good point to close circle evenly around. This also comes with two bobbins, so both can be filled before you begin, and then just 'snap' the replacement into place when needed.
