A relaxing technique to create beautiful little works of art to adorn your wall, make into a brooch or add to a hat or to embellish another work.

The techniques in this kit have their origins in the South American “Ojos de Dios” thread art, but with the addition of one-piece frames and needlelace stitches to bring them right up to date. The wrapping methods are so closely related to button-making and other decorative thread techniques.

The specially designed frames mean that you don’t need to try to line up sticks and get them square - and the little finials can be used for hanging tassels and other embellishments to really make them your own.

The majority of the design is worked by wrapping the threads around the arms, the additional needle lace stitching adds a little extra.

The kit comes complete with 4 skeins of DMC cotton perle thread (25m on each skein) and MDF bobbins to wind the thread onto before you begin.

There are full instructions for each pattern - but you could just make up your designs as you go.
