This new type of French knitter from Pony splits in half to enable you to place an object inside and knit around it - for instance encasing headphone cables in a knitted covering.

As knitted cords can be quite stretchy, this is also great to add a solid cord - such as leather or piping cord  - and then knit over it for a stronger cord that can be used for tassels, bags, and other applications where you don't want the stretch.

You can even cover beads to make buttons.... :)

Comes with a needle and various pegs - so the gauge of the knit can be adjusted
